First Day in Kurashiki

My first full day in Kurashiki was quite a change of pace from Tokyo. This city is the second largest city in the Okayama, Prefecture. A prefecture is similar to our states. I'm not sure what the population is, but it's nothing like Tokyo, which has a population of twelve million. Life moves a lot slower here in Kurashiki. The temparture is very similar to Menlo Park.

I got a little free time today to go explore the city on my own. They have the scariest spiders here in Japan. We're talking way scary! This one was the size of my hand! Oh, I also found one of the infamous Japanese toilets.

Kurashiki is famous for it's canals and the Ohashi bridge, which is said to be the longest suspension bridge in the world. That's me standing atop the famous Mt. Washuzan which looks over the Seto Inland Sea.

Our group also got to visit the Mitsubishi Motors' manufacturing plant where we were able to see the cars actually being manufactured on the production line, from start to finish.Of course, because of my mad driving skills, I was the only one in my group that was allowed to test drive the highly coveted, soon to be released twin turbo street racer. I was told that they were considering naming the car after me.

Well, that's all for today.
