Up, Up & Away!

Greetings from tomorrow! As I write this entry, my flight has just crossed the International Date Line. Yes, my “Today,” is your tomorrow. It’s exactly nine p.m. Monday night, Pacific Standard Time, but it’s one p.m. Tuesday, afternoon, Tokyo time. Exactly when I will be able to post this, is yet to be determined.

I hope you all had a great Monday with Mr. B., back home at school. It’s ironic because I really “lost” my Monday, in transit, and now I end up in Tuesday afternoon. Huh?

I have met many interesting people that make up the delegation of two hundred teachers and administrators. They are as varied a group as one could imagine when you consider that each of the fifty states are represented. I have not met, nor do I know if there are any delegates from the District of Columbia.

So far, it seems like the majority of the people I have met are from either Texas, or somewhere from the south, although I know that’s not really the case, it just feels that way. However, everyone is very friendly and excited to be part of this cultural exchange.

This morning I learned that my home stay family is a man and his wife, with no children. Not that that makes a difference, I just assumed that my home stay would be with a family that had children. The man does speak English, yea! The wife is a doll maker. I will be sure to take many pictures.

Somewhere aboard my flight there sits a man who is snoring with great volume. There also seems to be someone with a prolific flatulence problem. I wonder if they are one and the same person? At any rate, a ten-hour flight is much less than f-u-n. However, I know that it will all be worth it, when I touch down in Tokyo. Although, I must admit, I really could have done without “Flatulence Man.”

Well, that’s all for today. The next entry I write will be from The New Otani Hotel in beautiful downtown Tokyo. Sayonara for now.
